Who We Are

Lion Sports Network is the student-run sports media organization at St. John XXIII College Preparatory, covering home varsity sporting events, including football, volleyball, baseball, softball, girls basketball, boys basketball, and soccer. Now in our second year, we still keep the same vision: that of providing a reliable, high-quality, live-stream broadcast to fans, students, parents, grandparents and alummi not able to attend home games (along with select away football games). We strive to do our best, as an organization, increasing school spirit and encouraging the student body to cheer on their school sports teams.

2017-18 Inaugural Heads of Production Staff
George Kopf

Head of Operations/

Founder

Name Name

Head Cameraman/

Visual Support

George decided to make an idea and dream a reality, after discussion about how and if live streaming high school sports would even be a good idea. This  dream was the creation and formed the basis for Lion Sports Network. A sports fanatic since age 8, George founded the club with two things in mind: wanting to make an lasting impact and impression on the school and showing his love for sports, creating a so-called "high school version of ESPN". George is a senior, and is currently leading the club in its inaugural year. He hopes to attend Texas A&M University, majoring in sports management, aspiring to be a broadcaster or coach in his future.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Peter Langley has stepped down from this officer position. We will need this vacancy filled as soon as possible The qualifications for this officer position are:

- Preferably an upperclassman

- Someone who knows how to successfully use a camcorder

- Has a successful vision for the club

Matt Stasia

Head of Audio/

Guest Relations

Jake Taylor

Head of Statistics/Analysis Department

Stepping into a large role is tricky, especially if it is last minute. Originally calling Indiana and Ohio home, Matt has graciously agreed to step in as the audio/guest relations head. After moving to the great state of Texas before freshman year, Matt has adjusted to the temperature change and really does enjoy living here. Whenever he is outside of school, he can be seen repping the Houston Astros or his favorite college football team, the Ohio State University Buckeyes. He hopes to attend Texas A&M University, majoring in mechanical engineering.

You have to see something in order to believe in it. This is exactly how Jake got interested in Lion Sports Network. After exploring a year as a statistician, Jake decided to join the LSN staff, getting chosen to lead the statistics department. He also will be providing his voice and camera talents to the Friday Night Football broadcasts as the color commentator. In addition to football, Jake is a die-hard NBA basketball fan and being the true Michigander that he is, enjoys rooting for the Detroit Pistons, but mainly the University of Michigan Wolverines. He hopes to leave Texas for college,  majoring in math or engineering.

Griffin Alexander

Head of Logistics/Behind-the-Scenes

Creating a club is not easy, but when you have friends who are committed to success, it becomes nothing. Griffin has handled the logistics side of Lion Sports Network since its inception. As the mascot of St. John XXIII, Griffin wanted to still help with the club, and although being PJ on gamedays, still found ways to help. Griffin "successfully" created the Mock Trial club and wanted to help George out to successfully create another one. Griffin has high aspirations and plans to attend the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, where he hopes to major in computer science, becoming a engineer or a lawyer in his long-term future.
